Blurb

She flies by the seat of her pants, and he’s a no-nonsense kind of guy. When these two opposites attract ... oh baby, it’s game on!

I’d called Aoife O’Shaughnessy a number of things, but dumb was never one of them. Through all the trouble she’d gotten into over the years, I never once thought she was actually stupid. Until now. Because I just heard her plan to lose her virginity to the biggest a-hole we know.

My first thought? How the f*ck is Aoife still a virgin? The second? Over my dead body.

So I volunteered for the job instead.

It might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever done, but once the words were out of my mouth, I couldn’t take them back. I didn’t want to. Suddenly, I couldn’t stop wondering what it would be like to kiss the pink-haired sprite I’d known my whole life, to hear her moan my name when she comes.

And I know she’s wondering about me too.

It was only supposed to be sex, but now I’m in deep. I never meant to fall in love with Aoife; this wasn’t supposed to happen. And what came next? Well, neither of us planned on that.

“How do you like your chances against the Mariners?” Aoife asked, the bed springs creaking under the weight of her climbing under the covers.
“It’s hard to say,” I answered, sneaking past the lads to head to my room. Shutting the door as quietly as possible, I dropped down onto my bed. “Liam’s rotator cuff isn’t getting better with physio so Coach McCarthy is going to bench him until he goes under the knife. That means Paddy’s going to start. Poor kid is scared shitless.”
“Be nice, that was you not too long ago.”
“Yeah, but unlike me, Paddy doesn’t have a huge ego.”
“Oh hush, you’re not so bad.”
“Oh, I promise you I am. I’ve just kept it hidden from you all this time.”
“Come to think of it, you have always been full of yourself,” she joked easily.
“I’d love for you to be full of me.” When Aoife sucked in a startled breath, I realized I’d said that out loud. Shit. “Sorry,” I apologized automatically.
“No you’re not,” she answered, her voice coming through the line sounding like a long, slow drink of good whiskey.
“No,” I agreed, “I’m not.”
I was trying not to push her too hard, but she knew exactly how badly I wanted her. After coming in my pants when she’d given herself an epic, toe-curling orgasm by humping my lap, I’d learned my lesson. Now, whenever I’d be seeing Aoife, I beat off beforehand.
“About that. I’ve been thinking …”
“Yeah?” I asked, my gut clenching with nervous anticipation.
“I’m ready Eoin.”
Holy fucking Christ, thank you baby Jesus in a manger! I screamed in my head as I fought to keep my outward reaction steady. “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” she answered, her voice growing bold. “I want you inside of me.”
I snaked my hands under the elastic waistband of my joggers and dragged them down past my dick. I couldn’t remember if I’d locked my door on the way in, but it was too late to check. There was no way I was going to ask her to hold that thought while I made sure. If one of the lads walked in while I had my fist wrapped around my cock, that’d teach them to knock the next goddamned time.
“Say that again.” I slowly worked my hand up and down my shaft.
“What?” she asked, her tone teasing.
“Tell me you want me inside of you.”
“Are you touching yourself?”
“Fuck yes, I’m touching myself. You just told me I get to fuck you soon. It’s a miracle I didn’t come the second you said it.”
“I want you to fuck me, Eoin.”
“Are you touching yourself?” I asked on a strangled moan.
“Aoife …” I said when she didn’t respond, drawing out her name on an upward stroke. “Please tell me your fingers are playing with your pretty little cunt.”
“Yes, I’m touching myself,” she answered on a light moan. “I can’t stop touching myself.”
“Me either baby,” I agreed, picking up my pace. I trapped the phone between my ear and shoulder and reached down with my other hand to cup my balls and roll them in my hand. “I want you so bad,” I groaned, no shame in my confession.
“I know,” she answered on a shudder. “I can’t wait Eoin.”
“I’m going to make it so good for you, I promise. But before I fuck you with my cock, I’m going to make you come on my mouth. Are you picturing it Aoife—my lips on your clit, my tongue fucking your sweet little pussy?”
Staccato gasps echoed on the other end of the line. “Yes,” was all she managed to say between pants. “Yes, please.”
“That’s it baby, fuck your pretty pussy with your fingers and pretend they’re mine.”
I was getting close, but I wanted Aoife to come first. I always wanted her pleasure to come before mine.
“Oh my god Eoin, I’m coming!” she cried, her orgasm rolling through her. “Fuck, fuck, fuck,” she chanted.
Her pleasure was my undoing. My balls constricted and my whole body shuddered just before something like an electric current shot down my spine and I came so hard that I saw stars.
Literal fucking stars. When I came back down from the greatest high I’d ever felt, I heard Aoife laughing into the phone.
“You still there?”
“Yeah,” I croaked. “Holy shit.”
“I know. It’s never …”
“What?” I asked, pride egging me on. I had a sneaking suspicion what she was going to say because it had been like that for me too.
“I’ve never come that hard before.”
“Me neither,” I answered honestly.
“Shut up, you’re just saying that.”
“I promise you I’m not. That was … shit. Fucking epic, Aoife.”
“Yeah, it was, wasn’t it?” She chuckled.
“We are going to be so fucking good together, baby.”
“I like that, by the way.”
“What’s that?” I asked, wiping my hand on a towel from my earlier shower.
“That you call me baby. I like it,” she confessed.
I thought about it for a second. I’d never called a girl I was with anything but her name and I had no idea where it had come from. It had just slipped out, kind of how Aoife had just snuck up on me. Even though the endearment wasn’t something I’d consciously decided to use, I found myself smiling. “I like that you like it.”
“Oh shit, Colleen’s calling me to come downstairs,” she suddenly whispered. “I have to go.”
“Sweet dreams baby.”
“You too,” she said, blowing me a loud kiss just before hanging up.
I stared at myself in the mirror for a few moments, pondered the wide grin and happy eyes that stared back. Shit. I didn’t know how it had happened or why, but I was definitely falling for this girl.

Review
Ruck Me is book two in Rebecca's Dublin Rugby series and brings us the story of Eoin and Aoife, Declan's little sister from book one.  This book is friends to lovers and was amazingly well written.

When Eoin overhears Aoife talking about handing her virginity up to someone else - he's stunned at the realization he doesn't want that for her - not just because he hates that other guy, but because he genuinely cares about her, but he doesn't expect himself to spit out that he'll do it instead.  Eoin also doesn't expect that that event will open his eyes and give him a new light on his friendship with Aoife and what could come of it.

Aoife doesn't know how to take Eoin's offer of helping her out, they've been friends for so long and she doesn't want anything to stand in the way of that. But then feelings get involved and Aoife opens herself up to a relationship.

I love friends to lovers stories, and this one is no exception, but one of my favorite things about this story was it was about so much more than friends to lovers -- it was about finding your other half, the perfect match for you and being surprised at having not seen it before.  It was about allowing yourself the freedom to choose for yourself - even if it went against your family or friends wishes.  There was a lot more that happened throughout the book, tough scenes, hard choices, but to give details would ruin the perfection of the journey these two walk, so I won't do that.

Aoife and Eoin have struggles to work through, all while figuring out their relationship together. And each page builds the foundation of their story, gives stability to their connection, and shows how they handle problems and communication.  This book was more than a love story, more than romance between friends, it was a story of life changing moments shared between two people and how they came together to form the story of their lives.

Rebeccca Norinne touched on a lot of issues within the pages of this story, and she did it all in a way that was full of grace while also snagging my attention and making me feel the many emotions flittting through the characters.
