About The Book

The third book in the sexy Alpha's Heart series by USA Today bestseller Bella Jewel.

Delaney, a professional bodyguard, has spent years trying to prove herself in a male dominated industry.  Now she's facing her greatest challenge yet.

Bad boy billionaire Jax Shields has made plenty of enemies on his climb to the top, but being in the wrong place at the wrong time has put his life at risk. Now he's putting his life in the hands of Delaney and her team. He demands the best in everything, and he doesn't think she has what it takes to protect him. He's also made it clear he'd rather have her on her back then covering his. Will Delaney be able to prove herself to the most arrogant-and devastatingly handsome-man she's ever met?

REVIEW:

Hard to Forget is an action packed romantic tale.  The characters are vibrant and fun, and the lurking danger adds a bit of suspense.

Delaney is really sick and tired of not being taken seriously.  She gets it from co-workers, she gets it from family/friends, and now she's getting it from a client.  Just because she's a woman does not mean she cannot be a bodyguard.  Her gender has nothing at all to do with how well she can get the job done and she's out to prove it to her co-workers, her client, and ulitmately herself.

Jax Shields isn't happy about needing a bodyguard period. Even less happy that the firm he's hired has provided a woman as his main bodyguard.  It's not only that he finds it hard to believe a woman can get the job done well, but also, he rather finds Delaney HOT and would rather she be involved with him in non-work related ways.

Hard to Forget really holds no punches, we dive right in with action and watching Delaney hold her own with  a bunch of guys who don't believe in her and see how it affects her.  How can she have faith in herself when no one around her does.  Ultimately Delaney has to build a trust in herself, in knowing she can get the job done and ignoring all those who say she can't.  She's out to prove to herself and the world that they made a mistake when they didn't take her seriously, and she's going to do it with this client, Jax Shields, even if it kills her.

I loved that Delaney was well rounded, she was tough, she knew what she was doing, and she had a serious dedication to her job, but she also has soft parts and can get emotional.  I loved her interactions with co-workers and later Jax, she could play some things off but she could also get in there and call them on their BS.
The chemistry between Delaney and Jax is palpable and really adds to the overall story because while she's fighting to keep him safe, she's also fighting to keep herself away from him.  The animosity between her fellow bodyguard, Kyle and herself also add a genuine bit a drama to the story, there is a feeling of bitter competition along with his mysoginistic beliefs that Delaney can't adequately do the job because she's a woman.

When the dangerous elements begin focusing on not only their initial target of Jax, but also on Delaney, the suspense amps up as does the feelings between Jax and Delaney.  This really made the tension flare.  There are other complications that turn up and bring a little drama and diversion between Jax and Delaney, but ultimately they figure things out.

Hard to Forget was full of laughs, a few dire moments, a whole lot of sass, and some Steam.  Delaney and Jax were seriously fun to watch together and the store showed a lot about what it's like for a woman to work in a 'man's' world and be able to succeed and prove to some she can handle it.
